We’re looking for an experienced Design Director / Senior Designer to lead the multi-category design function at Akyra Active Life.
You will oversee creative direction across multiple apparel categories—Indian ethnic, luxury, dancewear, activewear & lifestyle—ensuring each brand maintains its distinct identity while aligning with Akyra’s premium aesthetic and purpose-driven values.

Responsibilities
- Lead creative direction and design strategy across all Akyra brands
- Oversee multi-category design: luxury ethnicwear, activewear, lifestyle, and dancewear
- Provide direction for branding, design language, and product architecture
- Guide construction drawings, technical documentation, and production-ready specifications
- Conduct trend research and ensure global fashion relevance
- Collaborate across sourcing, production, merchandising, and leadership teams
- Mentor and manage design teams based in New Delhi & Hyderabad
- Ensure end-to-end design alignment with brand identity and long-term business goals
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in fashion & apparel design (multi-category preferred)
- Degree in Fashion Design from NIFT or another premium fashion institute
- Strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, textiles, and technical detailing
- Ability to translate market insights into commercially successful and innovative designs
- Experience with branding, design systems, and architectural thinking a plus
- Demonstrated leadership capability and strong team management skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management abilities
